We need your help!!

We need you to share your story. Your voice matters in protecting Music Therapy in Colorado!

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) has proposed a series of actions in response to the Governor's recently released budget and subsequent executive orders. One of these actions includes a 9-39% reimbursement rate cut (dependent on waiver and education level).

But you can show your support by:

  1. Submitting a comment as a client, caregiver or client family, music therapist, teacher, allied health professional, community organization, business owner, direct service provider, EVERYONE’s VOICE is IMPORTANT!

  2. Sharing this information with your friends, family, neighbors, providers, and community leaders.

ITNC bases its treatment approach on the following principles:

Assumed Competence- that the individuals that we serve are capable, intelligent people that benefit from individualized supports as they grow in autonomy, independence, and potential.

Psychomotor regulation- that the development of neurological mechanisms that modulate every individual's actions, communication, and cognition are often foundational to independence and learning.

Total communication strategies- the importance of a variety of communication strategies to provide the opportunity for each individual to functionally and relationally interact with others.

Therapy CAN be FUN- a variety of preferred and improvised music along with instruments and interactive movement can motivate greater participation in challenging skill areas.
