Have you ever wished there was a “Adulting for Music Therapists” class at university?

Now there is a course that bridges the gaps between your therapy coursework and your career as a music therapy professional.

Bridging the Basics is designed for music therapy students and interns to develop your knowledge and confidence across business and program development, professional skills, and employment. Whether you want to develop a solo practice, own a private practice with employees, or work for an existing organization, the information and skills in this course will help you enter your music therapy career journey with information and resources for success.

8 Weekly On-Demand Modules

This course will be presented on-demand using video modules, digital resources, and more.

Printable Worksheets

& Plug-and-Play Calculators

Accompanying each module, you will be linked to printable worksheets supporting your learning as well as downloadable spreadsheets to practice concepts in budgeting, profit management, and other financial strategies.

Individual Mentorship

During the course of the 8-week session, all participants may schedule a 1 hour mentorship and Q&A session with the instructor to ask personalized questions, brainstorm program/business ideas, and get discuss career path topics.


Earn Clinical Training Hours

This course is designed to support students who are looking for supplemental learning opportunities AND for internship programs looking to further round out the curriculum of their site.

Including course modules, live Q&A sessions, and practical practice opportunities, this course could add 10 or more hours to your program.

Modules will be released weekly, however, all content will be recorded and accessible from release and for 12 weeks to work in YOUR schedule.

Certificates of completion will be sent at the end of each course.

Founder & Director of Services, Integrated Therapy of Northern Colorado

Sabra has been a practicing music therapist for 14 years and served as clinical development specialist and volunteer coordinator within a non-profit organization before starting her private practice in 2013. She is an adjunct faculty member at Colorado State University, where she has taught music therapy courses, guest lectured, and supervises local and distance students in their clinical practicum. Sabra specializes in community network development, program development, and is passionate about mentoring music therapists in development of innovative businesses and successful careers.


The second session of Bridging the Basics: Foundations in Business for Students and Interns runs from September 25th-November 17th, 2023 with access to On-Demand content through December 31, 2023.
